It has been already 5 weeks since I started my 3D modelling subject at my Uni. We are learning how to use Maya and for our first brief we are doing a plant :O . Anyway I have been trying really hard to keep up and take as much as possible from the lectures, but meh.... I just cant do 4 different things at the same time: take notes, use the program, watch the screen to see what the teacher is doing and listen to him too. Every time I wanted to do some work at home I got stucked somewhere. I watched all the video tutorials we have on the Uni website but I didnt get much help with it. I think Maya is very confusing, and its menues are not intuitive. Even my bf tried to help me (he has a lot of knowledge with 3DMax) but he got frustrated like me. I mean... with some research we could do anything we wanted, but its simply too time consuming to spend hours to find out about a very simple and specific thing over the internet and the Maya help tools.
What I decided was to give it a try with 3DMax and see if it was any better. It was! ... yeah well, its obvious since Ivan (boyfriend) helped me with something he is experienced with :P
Anyway it wasn't all that easy. Every beginning is difficult. The way 3DMax works is soooo different from Maya and I got all confused with the menues, tools and basic use of the program. After some ups and downs I finaly managed to finish the modelling of my plant character.
YAY
